National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI)
Who they are
Created by presidential decree on 25 January 1983 and now an autonomous body based in Aguascalientes, INEGI produces Mexico's official numbers: GDP, prices, jobs and the censuses. It forecasts nothing; it is the record the forecasts are scored against.

What they publish on Mexico
| What | How often |
|---|---|
| GDP (quarterly, with a timely estimate) | Quarterly |
| Consumer prices, INPC | Every two weeks and monthly |
| Population and housing census | Every ten years, with a count or intercensal survey in between |
Track record
INEGI does not forecast, so it has no forecast record. Its figures are the results the forecasts are measured against, and its revisions are why we show both the first published result and the latest one. The latest line on our forecast page is INEGI's national accounts as republished by the World Bank, which is where we read it.
